First Smiles

Payton has been working on smiling for the past week. She finally got the hang of it although she pretty much saves them for Daddy. We caught a few pictures of her toothless grin this morning. Again they were on my phone so the quality isn't great, but we'll get some with the good camera. It's crazy how much she changes in a weeks time!

Nana's Bday & Uncle Brian Visits

Saturday was Nana's (my mom) birthday. We celebrated by playing cards, one of her favorite things to do as a family, and cooking dinner for her something we like to do to celebrate her and say thank you for the thousands of meals she has prepared for us. Brian got to come home for the weekend as his training wrapped up in Alabama and he needed to report to the base in Texas, his home for the next year. He came home to get his car and drive it down. Happy Birthday Nana, we love you!!

Mother's Day Weekend

Well once again I am way behind on blogging, but better late than never! I had such a wonderful first Mother's Day. Kole's parents, brother and Grandma Audrey were in town to visit for the weekend so we got to celebrate with them. We had a great weekend just spending time together and eating some great food while they soaked up some time with Payton. This was her first time meeting her Uncle Kyle and Great Grandma Audrey, so it was a special weekend. On Mother's Day we went over to my mom's house for brunch. It was a little weird to have people wishing me a Happy Mother's Day all day, it still felt like it should be about our moms and grandma, but I am sure I will get used to it. I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Kole and Payton and a gift certificate to the spa from the Harms, I can't wait to get a massage after the Boulder Bolder! It was a special first Mother's Day for me as all the mother's in my life were there. We got some great pictures over the weekend. Thanks to both of our families for such a great weekend, we love you!

One Month Old

Little miss Payton turned one month old on May 6, the same day her favorite Aunt Kelsey turned 26! It's hard to believe it has been a month since she was born. She is so much fun to have around and the time is just flying by. She's still a really good baby, especially when it comes to sleeping at night. She still sleeps for 4 hour stretches andonly gets us up once during the night. Turns out she is a strong little girl, rolling over at 3 weeks old!! I have it on video, but I have yet to figure out how to load it onto the blog. She was laying on the couch next to me enjoying (not!) some tummy time and she rolled over to her back. At first I thought maybe I had positioned her just right to help her do it so I turned her back over and she did it again! She did a third time, which I captured on video and then again the next day at my dad's house. We put her in her crib for the night for the first time on Saturday May 1st and she did pretty well. She has been sleeping in it at night ever since and has taken a couple of naps in it during the day as well. Herfavorite place to sleep is still in some one's arms, she is a snuggler . She has been enjoying her baths more and more, which you can see in the pictures of daddy giving her his first bath. She has more and more personality every day and we are very much smitten with her!

1st Photo Shoot

Payton had her first photo shoot and was so good. Liz (and Eric) was in town for some other photo shoots and offered to take Payton's pics. She spent about an hour and half putting her in different poses and outfits and she totally cooperated.
