Easter

Easter was beautiful in CO this year. It had to be 70 that day and it was such a nice treat to be outside enjoying the warm sun. Grant didn't really get it of course, but takes cues from his sister and jumps in and does whatever she is doing.
Brunch on Easter Sunday has become tradition the last several years, it's kind of a nice change from the other more formal holiday dinner celebrations. This year Kelsey and Josh hosted, we had a great meal and conversation as usual and then let the kids have a little egg hunt in the yard. Payton really got into it this year which was fun. We had told her she needed to help Grand and she would set aside one out of every couple she found for him. Grant just crawled around in the grass, shook the eggs and watched the action.

On Saturday afternoon beforehand we dyed eggs, again Grant just watched while Payton really got into the activity.

I totally meant to dye these the opposite that I did, but turns out you can't read white crayon written on white egg and I guessed wrong before putting them in their cups, oh well.

Sunday morning before we went to brunch we did Easter baskets with the kids. Payton reacted the same as Christmas morning, she would rather see Santa and the Easter Bunny in her house rather then find the gifts they leave. I took the opportunity to fill their baskets with a few constructive things.

Our families are so good to the kids, they had baskets/gifts from Nana, Papa, and Kelsey and Josh and enjoyed opening them.
Good pictures of the two together is impossible right now, but at least they are in the same shot.
Grant LOVED the Easter grass and made a total mess of it!
Papa and his granddaughter :)

I really enjoy our low-key Easter traditions and love that we have family close by to celebrate with!
