First Mountain Picnic and Father's Day Weekend

This weekend we took a KFC picnic up to Left Hand Canyon with Aunt Kelsey and Uncle Josh. This is a place Kelsey and I went as kids with our Granny and Grandpa and often aunts, uncles and cousins who were in town. We have many fond memories of it and it was neat to take Payton there and a great way to spend Father's Day weekend.
The mountain air wore Payton out and she took a little snooze under the canopy that Daddy and Aunt Kelsey rigged up for her
Kole and Josh enjoyed some beer and frisbee while Kelsey and I got some sun
Payton loves her Aunt Kelsey and will be spending Wednesdays with her when I go back to work, I love that they have such a special bond and couldn't be happier that Payton will be in such great hands while I am gone
This is a classic Payton face and we finally caught it on camera
This may look like just an ordinary tree, but our parent used to line us Donahue cousins up from oldest to youngest and take a picture every time we had a picnic at this spot so now we have one of the Harms family. We miss our Granny so much and it was nice to spend some time in a beautiful place that we have great memories of her.

Happy 1st Father's Day!! Payton is one lucky little girl, Kole is an amazing dad!

She still looks pretty tiny in Uncle Josh's arms! I'm so glad we have them so close by to hang out with and for Payton to grow up with and some day she will have little Mitchell cousins to play with at this mountain spot! :)

Welcome Little Eli!

Jenn and Matt welcomed little Eli on Monday June 14th. He weighed 7lbs 5oz and was 20 inches long. Payton and I visited him on Tuesday in the hospital and then we all 3 went to visit them on Friday night and brought dinner. Eli is their second, they also have big sister, Ashtyn, who just turned 2. Jenn and I have known each other since we were 5 years old, so it's pretty special that we now have kids that will grow up together. Congrats Trujillo family, he is absolutely perfect! We love you!

Watching TV at the Trujillos

Payton and Eli, 11 weeks apart

They of course had no clue the other existed, but we thought they were pretty cute together!

First Vacation (part 2)

While we were in Illinois we drove about 2 hours south of where Kole's parents live down to Bloomington-Normal, IL to visit the Ghrists and see Illinois State, where Kole went to college. Tracie and Adam have a daughter, Mckenna, who is 9 months old and thought Payton was pretty neat.

Having lunch at The Pub II and watching the US play in the World Cup
It took 2 pictures to catch everyone looking at the camera
In the quad on the ISU campus, where Kole and Adam spent lots of time

Holding hands
Cute little Mckenna, she is such a sweet, happy baby!

First Vacation (part 1)

We made our first trip back to Illinois as a family of 3 on June 8th. We spent the week visiting with family and friends and relaxing at Grandma and Grandpa's. We had a wonderful week and Payton was a perfect little traveler. She did great on the plane, sleeping through take-off and landing and quietly eating and playing during the flight. I'm posting a ton of pictures in no particular odder!

Kole's Aunt Lana and cousin Krista threw a little welcoming party for Payton to meet the whole Harms fam. They had wonderful food and decorations and it was so great to spend time with the whole family. Kole is the baby of 12 grand kids and Payton is now the baby of 14 great-grand kids, pretty special! Thanks Lana and Krista, we love you!!

Bathing in the new kitchen, Dick and Janaan just remodeled their kitchen and it's beautiful!

Payton slept great in Kole and Uncle Kyle's crib

Janaan worked hard to make a nursery for Payton and any future Harms babies and it's adorable!

We had to take out a "few" stuffed animals to make room for Payton. Here she is hanging with the animals we left in to keep her company. The look on her face is priceless

(Great) Grandma Audrey, (Great) Aunts Suzie and Luann came to visit and Payton was pretty enamored with them.
