Happy 4th of July!

We had a very relaxing holiday. We walked to bagels and coffee in the morning and then just hung home, played outside and got ready for company for BBQ and fireworks in the evening. The littles were dressed to celebrate so we snapped some pics of all 3 together. How cute are they!? ;)

Finally I have a pic of me and my nephew. Could hold him forever.
Family pic!

The Platt fam and Morgan and B came to celebrate with us. The kids played and slid on the slip n slide, watched a movie and we continued the tradition of smores while waiting for the fireworks to start. So yummy! Turns out 3 and 4 year-olds are way more impressed by smores then fireworks, who'd a thought!? We were so excited to experience Payton's first firework show this year since she has always been fast asleep in the past. She talked about it the days leading up, but when it came time she kept asking (literally probably 25 times) "mom is this end?" She was ready for them to be over after the first one. I envisioned it going so differently. Oh well, fun was had by all!

Loved the smores and special time with her Aunt
Liam enjoyed a bottle while the others enjoyed smores

We are so lucky we can see the Broomfield fireworks from our backyard and so thankful family and friends will come to us to celebrate.

Happy 4th!

Summer Randoms

Payton got invited to spend the day at the Denver Zoo with the Platt family, she was so excited! She had a great time, it was so sweet of them to include her. It was a big deal for me as it's the first time she's done something like that with someone other than family. I know as parents we have to let our kids go, but it's really hard! So glad to have friends and family we trust, Payton had a blast and I survived. Baby steps!

We've lots of bird baths, something I used to do with Lexi. My kids think it's pretty fun.

Spending as much time as we can with this sweet boy. I pulled out a bouncy seat for Liam to use and Grant thought it was for him crawled right in and wouldn't get out. I hope these two boys will get into lots of trouble together (nothing serious though) as they grow up...
The Mitchell's (Josh's parents) came to meet their newest grandson (they have 3 others from Josh's sister) and we tagged along one night to Pearl Street. It's hard to have family far away (harder for them I am sure) but we love getting to see them when they come to visit!
I swear this girl knows no stranger, she watched this guy for quite a while and then asked if she could go drum with him. He obliged.
This little man actually had fun, but this was taken after the drummer incident and he was terrified of the guy. It was pretty funny he would cry and cling to us every time he looked at him, but he just couldn't stop watching! Complete opposite of his older sister, he prefers "his" people and can do without all the rest!

Nana wanted to take the kids swimming and I had the day off so we all went to the pool in Kelsey's neighborhood. It was such a fun afternoon to spend with my mom and sister and the kids. Liam napped in the shade and Payton and Grant couldn't get enough of the water. I didn't get a picture of Payton, but she swam her little heart out. Grant finally enjoyed swimming, I think it had something to do with the hot temperature of the water. Love summer with little ones around!

Photo shoot at the park taken with my iPhone so not the best quality.
Grant's at a stage that's almost impossible to get a good picture of him. Liz, we need you!!!
Best I could get of the two, oh well.

I'm an Auntie!!!

My sweet nephew is here! Liam Charles Mitchell arrived on Saturday June 15th around 3:30am and he is just perfect. Kels endured about 11 hours of labor and about 15 min of pushing (totally not fair!) and did amazing. Josh did great too :)  He is such a sweet baby and we are all loving having another baby around to snuggle. Payton has taken on the role of "older"cousin and I have to fight for time to hold him, seems to always be her turn! Grant wasn't too sure at first and really didn't like it when Liam cried, but he has warmed up and is really sweet to him.
This picture brings tears to my eyes every time I look at it. Josh has the biggest smile and you can see tears of pure joy/love/relief running down Kelsey's cheek. Kelsey and Josh were so wonderful to invite me to be a part of his birth and I am so thankful to have been there for Liam's arrival, an awesome experience I will cherish always and never forget!

Snuggling with Nana

Very proud to be the eldest and hold the littlest
Dressed and ready to go home. I am loving seeing Liam in some of Grant's baby clothes, melts my heart.
Love this image. Family dinner (on Father's Day) with our newest member. Life is good.
